BlackRock backed tokenization firm Securitize to list via Cantor SPAC

Securitize

Securitize plans to become a listed company by merging with the Cantor Equity Partners II special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), sponsored by a Cantor Fitzgerald affiliate. Securitize is known for tokenizing real world assets (RWA), particularly the BlackRock BUIDL money market fund (MMF), but also for Apollo, Hamilton Lane and KKR funds. The deal values Securitize at $1.25 billion pre money.

The company’s backers include high profile US firms such as BlackRock, Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Ark Invest. But since its early days in 2017 Securitize has attracted prominent investors from around the world. For example, a 2019 Series A extension round included subsidiaries of Santander, MUFG and Nomura. Despite these strong traditional finance connections, Securitize also has significant DeFi partnerships that receive minimal coverage in the presentation, including an alliance with Ethena, whose USDe stablecoin experienced turbulence during the recent crypto market crash

The SPAC deal comes at a time of massive growth for Securitize, driven in part by the BlackRock BUIDL MMF, which grew from $400m in assets under management (AUM) in February 2025 to almost $2.9 billion today. Securitize’s total AUM were $4.6 billion at the start of October. The company’s top line has grown commensurately. Revenues in 2024 totaled $19 million, with that figure almost matched ($18 million) in Q2 of 2025 alone. The company is projecting $69 million in revenues in 2025 and $110 million in 2026. It started turning a profit in 2025, forecasting $17 million for this year and $32 million in 2026.
