Franklin Templeton ETFs to trade around the clock via Ondo tokenization deal

Ondo Finance is tokenizing five Franklin Templeton ETFs through its Ondo Global Markets platform, making them tradable outside standard exchange hours.

Conventional ETFs trade on regulated exchanges during market hours. The tokenized versions will be tradable 24/5 via blockchain rails, a feature that some alternative trading systems already offer for select assets but that remains absent from mainstream ETF distribution.

The stock and ETF tokens are structured debt notes which are total return trackers, rather than representing ownership of the underlying stocks. They are issued out of the BVI and backed 1:1 with stocks plus accumulated dividends. The tokens are not registered in any jurisdictions and are available only to non-US investors and to qualified investors in certain permitted markets.
