Alongside the addition of eight new general members, the Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust (LFDT) has launched a new lab for tokenization standards. The Open Tokenized Asset Standard (OTAS) is a LFDT lab that includes open source smart contracts to implement various tokenized financial instruments. The lab was proposed by premier member OpenAssets and sponsored by Sui / Mysten Labs.

OTAS is not the only tokenization standard in the LFDT’s orbit. One of the LFDT’s new associate members is the ERC-3643 Association, which oversees another tokenization standard that has proven popular with institutions. Fund administrator Apex recently acquired the ERC-3643 founder, Tokeny.

Beyond tokenization, two themes are evident in the new LFDT general members: the need for trust and identity for AI agentic solutions, and the proliferation of new blockchains. The new general members include Affinidi (Agent IDs), Espresso Systems (blockchain), FairSquareLab (DLT app developer), First Person Cooperative (identity), Hashlock (web3 security), Horizen (blockchain), Innovation Labs by Identity Digital (Agent IDs), and Matter Labs (ZKsync blockchain).
