Mubadala Capital tokenizes private markets strategy via KAIO

KAIO (formerly Libre), the ADGM-based tokenization infrastructure provider co-founded by Nomura’s Laser Digital, has launched a tokenized version of one of Mubadala Capital’s evergreen private market strategies. The offering is available across Base, Solana and Sui, and has attracted roughly $75 million in onchain total value locked from both traditional and digital asset investors.

Mubadala Capital is a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund Mubadala Investment Company, managing and advising on over $600 billion in assets. Its core alternatives businesses manage more than $60 billion across private equity, credit, venture capital and co-investment platforms.

Perhaps the most notable element is that Coinbase plans to add the tokenized product to its own corporate balance sheet, rather than simply offering it to clients. Brett Tejpaul, Head of Coinbase Institutional, framed the move as reflecting the growing maturity of regulated real-world assets and their potential role in corporate treasury management.
