Partior, the multi currency tokenized deposit network involving several systemically important banks, has run a proof of concept with OpenAssets to clear and settle stablecoin transactions using tokenized deposits.
OpenAssets is a tokenization technology provider that shares a common backer with Partior in Valor Capital. It has strong links with Tether, which is one of its backers, and its CEO Gabor Gurbacs is also an advisor to Tether’s tokenization offering, Hadron by Tether.
The trial involved integrating the Partior tokenized deposit network with OpenAssets’ digital asset infrastructure layer for delivery versus payment (DvP) settlement purposes. While the announcement talks about using tokenized deposits to settle tokenized asset transactions, the main thrust appears to be for stablecoin redemption and clearing.
