SEC, CFTC unveil digital asset collab. To explore offsetting collateral for spot, derivatives

Today the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced plans to work together on digital asset regulation and will hold a roundtable on 29 September. “The SEC and CFTC must coordinate to ensure there is not a regulatory ‘no man’s land’ due to inaction by one or both agencies,” the regulators said in a joint statement.

They announced several topics that they plan to explore at the roundtable. However, some of the biggest issues don’t appear to be limited to digital assets, such as exploring 24/7 trading.
