DTCC creates dedicated tokenization business line within its clearing division

DTCC tokenization

DTCC has established a new business unit, DTCC Digital Asset Solutions, to commercialize the tokenization of DTC custodied assets. The unit sits within Clearing & Securities Services (CSS), the division that houses DTCC’s three clearing agency subsidiaries led by Brian Steele. More specifically it falls under the Equities portfolio headed by Val Wotton. Tom Sullivan, who joined DTCC in September 2025 from Société Générale and its digital asset subsidiary SG FORGE, leads the new unit.

The move is the clearest signal yet that DTCC views tokenization not as an adjacent innovation project but as core to the future of its clearing and settlement infrastructure.

The new unit is distinct from DTCC Digital Assets, the team led by Nadine Chakar that grew out of DTCC’s 2023 acquisition of Securrency. Chakar’s team retains responsibility for the ComposerX platform, LaunchPad and broader Web3 ecosystem development, including interoperability and partnerships. DTCC Digital Asset Solutions will “leverage technology created by DTCC Digital Assets” according to the announcement, establishing what is effectively an internal client vendor relationship.
