ICE invests in OKX, eyes NYSE tokenized equities distribution

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), owner of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), has made a minority investment in crypto exchange OKX at a valuation of $25 billion, securing a seat on its board of directors.

The deal includes a broad strategic collaboration under which OKX will distribute access to ICE’s US futures markets and NYSE tokenized equities to its 120 million accounts globally, subject to regulatory approval.

ICE will also license OKX’s spot crypto prices to launch US regulated futures contracts, giving institutional investors a compliant route to digital asset exposure. The choice of OKX over domestic crypto exchanges is not incidental, with the reasoning outlined below.
