Ripple has made a strategic investment in Notabene, the New York based company that operates what it describes as the largest open network for Travel Rule compliant crypto transactions. The investment amount was not disclosed.
The two companies will collaborate to integrate Ripple USD (RLUSD) into Notabene Flow, a B2B stablecoin payments platform the company launched earlier this year. Notabene is also exploring how its pre-transaction authorization capabilities could complement Ripple Payments.
Notabene built its business on Travel Rule compliance, providing the messaging infrastructure that allows crypto exchanges, custodians and banks to exchange counterparty information before settling onchain transactions. That network now spans more than 2,300 connected institutions across 100 jurisdictions and facilitates what the company describes as over $2 trillion in annualized transaction volume. However, that figure reflects Travel Rule messaging processed through the network rather than stablecoin payment flows.
