Standard Chartered has appointed Naveen Mallela as Global Head of Payments, effective 4 May. He will be based in Singapore and report to Mahesh Kini, Global Head of Cash Management.
The role consolidates the bank’s Collections, Clearing and Payments teams into a single organization, reflecting growing client demand for end-to-end solutions across both traditional and on-chain payment flows.
Mallela joins from JP Morgan, where he was co-head of Kinexys, the bank’s permissioned blockchain unit focused on real time cross border payments and digital asset settlement. Kara Kennedy remains as the other co-head of Kinexys following his departure, which was announced in early February.
