UniCredit has issued a tokenized structured product for private investors through its wealth management division, marking the Italian bank’s second public blockchain issuance in a week.
The capital protected note, indexed to Euribor 3M and tailored for professional clients, was digitized using the BlockInvest platform and registered on a public blockchain. Weltix served as the distributed ledger registry manager for the transaction, which was executed in compliance with Italy’s FinTech Decree.
The issuance follows UniCredit’s €5 million digital minibond for E4 Computer Engineering last week, with the investment split equally between UniCredit and state owned Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. That transaction similarly used the BlockInvest platform with tokenization on the Polygon PoS blockchain.
